Happy Birthday 7th Bearsted!

7th Bearsted Brownies started June by celebrating our 30th Birthday with a party. Then we spent lots of time preparing for our village carnival. The theme was “Once Upon a Carnival : Children’s books”. We teamed up with 1st Bearsted Brownies and went as Revolting Brownies, inspired by Roald Dahl’s fantastic book, Matilda. Dressed up in costumes we designed and made, we marched along, waving and clapping to music, pulling a Chokey, carrying placards and flags. We impressed the spectators and judges and won first place! You might spot Miss Honey, Miss Trunchball, a newt in a glass, a chocolate cake and the Chokey with lots of Matildas in the photo!

For our last June meeting we did all sorts of golden activities led by our first two Brownies to achieve their Gold awards! An amazing month for 7th Bearsted Brownies.
